A Mother’s Day Moment with Lilly: Life, Lashes & Little Ones

In celebration of Mother's Day, we caught up with Lilly herself to talk about the joys, challenges, and proud moments of motherhood. From beauty hacks to heartfelt stories, this is motherhood—Lilly-style.

Q: If you could describe being a mom in one word, what would it be?

Lilly: Tired. I have a 6-year-old and a 2-year-old, so I’m still in that very tired phase—waking up every morning to “Are you awake, Mom?” and ending every night with bedtime stories and scratches under the shirt (as my daughter likes to have it).

I may be tired, and that might be the word I’d use to describe mom life right now, but I truly wouldn’t have it any other way. The exhaustion is real, but so is the love.

Q: What’s your go-to beauty tip for moms on the move?

Lilly: Tinted sunblock. It’s my holy grail. No one warned me that motherhood meant being outside constantly. Parks, pools, bikes, bugs—you name it. Kids want to be outdoors 24/7. A good tinted sunblock not only protects my skin but gives me a little glow and coverage, too. It’s minimal effort with maximum payoff.

Q: What’s one of your proudest mom moments?

Lilly: I’m beyond proud of how kind and loving my kids are—not just to each other (they’re always hugging, kissing, and saying “I love you”), but to others, too.

One day, I was volunteering at my daughter’s school during lunch. I noticed a little girl eating all by herself. I pointed her out to my daughter and said, “Alara, look, that little girl’s not sitting with anyone.” Without me even having to nudge her, she walked over and said, “Would you like to come eat lunch with me and my friends?” Seeing that instinctive kindness and inclusivity in her, it melted me. That was a very proud mommy moment.

Happy Mother’s Day from Lilly Lashes
